isFinite(number)
- Determines if a number is finite;
returns false if the argument is positive infinity, negative infinity,
or
NaN (not a number)
isNaN(testValue)
- Determines if the value is a not a
number
escape(string)
- Returns the hexadecimal encoding of an
argument in the ISO Latin character set
unescape(string)
- Returns the ASCII string for the
specified hexadecimal encoding value
escape and unescape
are used primarily with server-side
JavaScript to encode and decode name/value pairs in URLs
typeof()
- Returns: "number", "boolean", "string", "function", "object", "undefined"
- A null variable returns "object"
